School Council
What is the School Council?
The School Council comprises three parent representatives, three staff representatives, the P&C President, and the School Principal. Meeting twice each term, its purpose is to enable formal participation by the school community in planning and guiding school activities, and to provide a forum for collaboration on future goals and directions.
What are the objectives of the School Council?
The objectives of the School Council are as follows: (1) determine collaboratively the goals or mission of the school; (2) determine collaboratively general school policies; (3) encourage parent and community participation in the curriculum and other educational issues at the school; (4) assess the school’s financial needs and collaboratively oversee the budget plan for the school; (5) promote the educational, physical and well-being of all students; and (6) promote the positive image and interests of the school to the wider community.
How Can You Get Involved?
Parent and carer involvement is highly rewarding and enriches the educational and extra-curricular opportunities for our students. Partnerships between the school and its community foster growth and development for all. If you have ideas or concerns you’d like the School Council to address, please reach out to your parent representatives. We have an email address (BPPSCouncil@outlook.com) and you’ll often find us around the school grounds. We also encourage you to consider volunteering as a parent representative when the next opportunity arises!
