BPPS2025.

What a year it was at BPPS. Filled with connection, colour, laughter, new ideas and moments that truly brought everyone together.

We began the year on a high with a sunny Welcome Picnic, where families reconnected, new friendships formed and the school grounds buzzed with excitement. Our Tea and Tissues morning warmly welcomed new families (with a few happy tears as little ones headed off to class), while the kids showed grit and determination at the Cross Country Carnival, shone across Summer PSSA sports, and embraced new challenges through the Gateway Program. We were incredibly proud to see our AFL team finish second in the Paul Kelly Cup, and the annual Buddy Hat Parade delivered big smiles and creative flair across the playground. Term One wrapped up in true BPPS style with Crazy Hair Day, complete with a Pop-Up P&C Hair Salon, raising funds for Stewart House and supporting SRC. The morning was a colorful blur, with lots of creative kids buzzing around.

Term Two kept the momentum rolling. Election Day transformed the school into a hub of activity, with our first-ever White Elephant Stall sitting alongside the much-loved BBQ serving hot democracy sausages, second-hand treasures and a fantastic local turnout. Our Mother’s Day Breakfast was a heartfelt morning, with dads on the BBQ and kids carefully choosing gifts to surprise the special women in their lives. Mid-term fun arrived with the SRC’s Pirate Day, supported by the P&C, featuring a Pirate Patch Studio and Tattoo Parlour and raising funds for The Kids’ Cancer Project. A relaxed (and loud) Minecraft Movie Night gave kids a fun evening with friends (and parents a well-earned night off), while our major fundraiser, the Annual Parents’ Night at Lozzi’s, brought the 90s roaring back, throwback tunes, bold outfits and generous support for school programs. The term finished with our first Sporties Raffle Night, sending plenty of families home smiling, meat trays in hand.

Later in the year, the community came together again for a much-loved Father’s Day Breakfast, hosted by Year 1 and fuelled by B&E rolls from the Primo Food Truck, giving mums the morning off the BBQ. The return of the Father’s Day Gift Shop added an extra layer of joy as skids proudly selected gifts for their dads and father figures. The 13th Annual Ladies Spring High Tea, held at the newly renovated Hunters Hill Hotel, offered a lively afternoon of connection and celebration, with DJ Sheba setting the mood. We also welcomed back the SOAR Concert in 2025, delivering three joyful performances that showcased the talent of our students and the incredible dedication of our teachers and support staff. The Dads & Kids Camping Weekend at Del Rio added a dose of adventure, with fireside chats, shared activities and plenty of laughs.

Term Four delivered a vibrant and action-packed finish to the year. We loved opening our classrooms for Grandparents Morning Tea and the Book Fair, welcoming grandparents for a special morning of shared learning, stories and a generous morning tea spread. The school came alive for our first-ever BPPS Disco for K–6. It was loud, bright and bursting with energy, complete with a glow bar, chill-out zone and a wildly popular DJ competition. The crowd roared as DJ Harperlicious claimed the crown for best playlist. The Student Activity-thon kept spirits high, before the year wrapped up with a splash (quite literally) at the Splash & Dash, featuring fire trucks, real-life fire fighters, giant inflatables and non-stop water play.

The year also gave us time to pause and reflect as we farewelled Ms Kathy Hristofski, celebrating an incredible 40 years in education, and said goodbye to our Year 6 students and others heading off to new schools and exciting adventures ahead.

Throughout the year, the P&C continued to show up for our community, hosting meet and greet sessions at Boronia Kitchen and Village Days, creating welcoming spaces for conversations, ideas and connection.

A heartfelt thank you to every volunteer who gave their time — early mornings, late nights and everything in between — to bring these moments to life. This year reminded us that while fundraising matters, connection always comes first, and the shared joy along the way is what truly makes BPPS special.

Here’s to a year rich in community spirit — and to carrying that energy forward into the year ahead.
